Chris Phillipson

I love photography as it has drawn together several interests: art, steam locomotives, landscape and being outdoors in all weathers. My first ever photograph is here; taken at the old Eastbourne steam shed in June 1964. I transferred to colour film and slides in about 1966 and finally converted to digital imaging in 2009.

I enjoy all aspects of photography and have found that since joining EPS my scope has widened considerably. The principal thing is that through photography, I’ve become acutely aware of my surroundings, light and the environment and also my images are created because I personally like them and if others do as well, then that’s a bonus.
