Our Club
Eastbourne Photographic Society had their first meeting in the first week of January 1892!
This is testament to our friendly club of like minded people, sharing their photographic work and encouraging all ability levels to practice and further develop their craft.
We have an amazing programme of speakers, competitions, member’s nights (a mixture of socialising and learning) and workshops, tailored to the needs of our members. There will be a small number of Zoom speakers through the course of the season, allowing us to bring the knowledge and experience of speakers from further afield to our meetings.
Our regular club competitions allow for all members to take part. We have four print competitions and four PDI (Projected Digital Image) competitions each season. To facilitate progression there are three ability level classes for our print and PDI competitions. Many of our members started sharing their images and prints in the Entry level, before progressing to Intermediate level, then moving on to the Advanced level.
The different classes for competitions are as follows:
• Entry Level (for beginners)
• Intermediate Level (for members with some experience)
• Advanced Level (for more established members).
There are also Nature and People Classes which are open to all ability levels.
Workshops are arranged when there’s demand for a particular topic of learning. We also welcome suggestions from our members.

Workshops
Workshops are arranged when there’s demand for a particular topic of learning. Examples include a “Mobile phone Safari”, an outdoor event beside the Pier to provide tips and suggestions for Smartphone photography. We always appreciate suggestions from our members for future workshops so please do chip in with what interests you.
We have an annual Members Handbook which explains competition rules, how to enter PDI (projected digital images) competitions, Print competitions, the Programme of events, and more.
